Redwood River School is looking for an Family Liaison Officer (FLO) & Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our wonderful independent SEN school. Our new school is based at the Old Postern, a breathtakingly beautiful medieval building steeped in history and surrounded by the tranquil natural beauty of the South Devon countryside.
As part of our exciting journey, we’re delighted to offer a unique opportunity for a passionate and experienced Family Liaison Officer (FLO) & Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)to join our brand-new team at Redwood River School. This is more than just a job—it’s a rare chance to help shape something from the very beginning.
As a Family Liaison Officer (FLO) & Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), you’ll strengthen partnerships between school, families, and external agencies while providing strategic and operational leadership for safeguarding across the school. The postholder will ensure that all pupils are safe, supported, and able to access education, with particular attention to vulnerable learners and those with additional needs. This role forms part of the school’s leadership team and attends Senior Leadership Team meetings to report on safeguarding, supporting a secure and effective whole school approach.

What We’re Looking For
12. Experience working with children and families in an educational or community setting Experience working with students with SEND, particularly ASC, PDA and SEMH
13. Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
14. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
15. Relevant qualification in education, family support, youth work, or safeguarding (Level 3 or above)
