What you’ll do:
We are currently looking to recruit a Safe System of Work Planner (Permit Coordinator) to join our team based in Falkirk. This is a key safety role where you will help plan and coordinate safe work activities, ensuring our operations are carried out efficiently and in line with safety standards.
You will work closely with both internal teams and our clients, supporting the creation of Safe Work Packs (SWPs), managing worksite access, and ensuring all safety-critical tasks are properly planned.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a Planner, creating Safe Work Packs as instructed by the client
Use online planning and permit tools to access hazard and access information
Work alongside operations teams to plan safety-critical activities
Provide technical support to ensure safe systems of work are in place
Support the team in arranging and managing possessions and worksites
Maintain up-to-date safety competencies and take part in regular assessments
Build strong relationships with client representatives
Deputise for other members of the management team when needed
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
At least 5 years of relevant experience in the civil engineering industry in a safety-critical role
Strong understanding of industry standards related to Safe Work Planning
High attention to detail and excellent written communication
Strong IT skills, including experience with permit tools and tablets
A structured and organised approach to work
Problem-solving ability
Safety and compliance focused
Full, clean UK driving licence
Desirable:
Working towards or holding a safety qualification such as SMSTS or NEBOSH
Experience in regulated environments, such as rail or utilities
Familiarity with NR/L2/OHS/019 standards
This is an important role within the company and requires someone who is reliable, proactive, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and planning. You must also be willing to travel to different sites when required.
