Design & Build Contractor,
is seeking a dedicated and experienced
M&E Quality Manager
to ensure the highest standards of installation and commissioning across their portfolio of premium construction projects in London.
You will be the final authority on M&E quality, driving best practice from design validation through to client handover. This is a critical role for an individual who is uncompromising on quality and thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Quality Assurance & Control:
Develop, implement, and manage a robust M&E Quality Management System (QMS) across all project sites.
* Inspections and Sign-Off:
Lead all inspection and test plan (ITP) sign-offs for Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) systems, ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations, and industry standards.
* Document Management:
Own and maintain all quality-related documentation, including snagging registers, inspection reports, test certificates, and handover documentation (O&M manuals).
* Defect Management:
Proactively identify, report, and track M&E defects and non-conformances, working closely with the delivery team and subcontractors to ensure timely and effective remediation.
* Commissioning Oversight:
Work alongside the Commissioning Manager to ensure all systems are commissioned to the highest standards, witnessing key tests and verifying compliance.
* Subcontractor Management:
Vet and manage subcontractor quality submissions, carrying out regular audits of their site installation processes.
* Compliance & Handover:
Guarantee all installed systems are fully compliant, facilitating a smooth and comprehensive handover to the client and facilities management team.
Candidate Profile
* Experience:
Proven track record (5+ years) in a dedicated M&E Quality or Technical Management role within a main contractor, developer, or large M&E subcontractor, ideally on residential or mixed-use projects.
* Technical Expertise:
Strong technical knowledge across both mechanical (HVAC, LTHW, BCWS, etc.) and electrical (Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, etc.) building services.
* Qualifications:
Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND or Degree) in Building Services, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
* Tools:
Highly proficient with digital quality platforms such as
FieldView, SnagR, Dalux, or 4Project
, and document management tools like
Bluebeam
and BIM platforms.
* Personal Skills:
Exceptional attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to influence and enforce quality standards with site teams and subcontractors.
