What the Night Manager Does
The Night Manager reports to the General Manager and is responsible for overseeing the running of the hotel from sunset to sunrise. The role involves managing the night team, maintaining security, supporting other departments, and ensuring guest expectations and brand standards are consistently met.
Responsibilities
* Monitor staff rosters to ensure appropriate cover for business levels.
* Communicate handover information to all departments daily.
* Ensure all staff are trained to the agreed standards.
* Participate in training and development, creating training plans for the department.
* Review staff progress at set intervals and maintain records.
* Comply with hotel health & safety policies and assist management to meet legal requirements.
* Comply with the hotel fair employment policy and assist management in its implementation.
* Communicate all relevant information to management and other departments promptly and accurately.
* Be familiar with emergency panels in reception and evacuation procedures.
* Maintain good working relationships with all departments.
* Secure the hotel building at night, conduct floor walks and manage noise control.
* Prepare conference rooms for successive use.
* Ensure public areas are cleaned to appropriate standards.
* Ensure staff report for duty on time in correct uniform and groomed to agreed standards.
* Plan for future business to meet guest expectations.
* Record sales accurately through agreed hotel procedures.
* Record payments accurately through agreed hotel procedures.
* Investigate and report inaccuracies in reception and bar staff banking.
* Ensure all staff follow departmental procedures.
* Comply with all reasonable requests from management.
* Adhere to Holiday Inn/IHG hotel standards of operation.
* Resolve problems and complaints promptly to guest satisfaction or report to management.
* Ensure stock necessary for department operation is available and backed up.
* Report stock discrepancies to manager at earliest opportunity.
* Minimise wastage.
* Safekeep company and guest property.
* Maintain cleanliness in the work environment.
* Report any problem detrimental to the hotel’s business or reputation.
* Support all departments during peak periods.
* Use Quore daily for departmental issues.
* Implement procedures to reduce night‑time energy costs.

Qualifications
* One year experience as a hotel night supervisor / Night Manager.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Excellent customer care skills.
Desired Criteria
* Managerial qualification or related hospitality qualification.
Contract & Salary
Full‑time contract. Salary up to £16.76 hourly.
