We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate IPS Manager to lead Fresh Steps, our Individual Placement and Support (IPS) employment service for people with addiction support needs across York. This is a unique opportunity to shape a high‑impact service that transforms lives through work, recovery, and social inclusion.
Responsibilities
As IPS Manager, you’ll provide day‑to‑day leadership to the IPS Employment Advisor, oversee service delivery across clinical teams, and ensure the service meets the highest IPS fidelity standards.
You’ll build strong relationships with partners including NHSE, CGL, IPS Grow, DWP, Public Health and local authorities, ensuring seamless collaboration and a shared commitment to recovery‑focused employment support.
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you’ll also manage a small caseload of clients, supporting them directly into paid work that aligns with their goals and strengths. You’ll monitor performance, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the service delivers excellent outcomes for the people who rely on it.

Qualifications & Competencies
• Ability to converse and provide advice in spoken English to CEFR level C1 (fluent, spontaneous communication).
• Demonstrated competency to engage with the public in a professional manner.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
• Enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
