Community Car Scheme Coordinator – Blaenau Gwent (Abergavenny/Hybrid)
Salary: £28,681.44 per year (pro-rata for part-time/job share)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hrs – Flexible working options, including part-time and job-sharing, will be considered. Please state your preference on your application form.
Contract: Fixed term until 30/09/2026 (funding dependent)

Bridges is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Community Car Scheme Coordinator to lead our volunteer-driven car scheme in Blaenau Gwent. You'll be at the heart of helping people get where they need to go, building supportive relationships with passengers, volunteers and local partners.
This role is varied and rewarding – one day you'll be matching bookings to volunteer drivers, the next you'll be out in the community meeting passengers or supporting new volunteers. You'll also play a key role in keeping our systems running smoothly, ensuring records, expenses and reports are accurate and up to date.
What you'll do:
* Coordinate the day-to-day running of the car scheme
* Recruit, support and motivate volunteers
* Manage passenger enquiries, bookings and registrations
* Build strong links with local services and community groups
* Keep accurate financial and administrative records
What we're looking for:
* Great people skills and a caring, professional approach
* Strong organisation and attention to detail
* Confident with IT (Microsoft Office and databases)
* Able to lead, support and inspire volunteers
* Flexible and proactive, with a full driving licence, car and business insurance
* Knowledge of Blaenau Gwent area
Bonus points if you have:
* Experience in the voluntary/community sector
* Knowledge of services for vulnerable adults
* Welsh language skills
