Renfrewshire Council’s Finance and Resources service is seeking a Principal Accountant (Treasury) to join the Corporate Finance Team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will oversee the Council’s Treasury function managing the daily activities and cashflows, investment and borrowing requirements and support the financial accounting function.
The role includes monitoring, forecasting, and reporting the cashflow position of the Council; monitoring and providing financial advice on the Council’s borrowing and investment requirements; accounting for the Council’s Common Good and Trust; and providing technical accountancy advice and support.
The Principal Accountant (Treasury) will also manage a small team of Treasury staff and have responsibility for their ongoing development and the development of Treasury processes.
You will be a CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant with experience of managing daily cashflows, borrowing and banking. You will possess well-developed communication and report-writing skills and have experience operating financial ledger systems and associated reporting tools. With the ability to manage competing demands and prioritise effectively with a high degree of resilience.
Within our finance team, we are currently looking at new ways of working, establishing a mix of office-based and home-based working in this role.
If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
