Technical Manager
Location: Taunton
Type: Permanent
We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to support the delivery of a large-scale residential development. You will be responsible for the technical coordination of site-wide infrastructure and allocated residential parcels, working closely with operational, commercial, and consultant teams from planning through to construction and aftercare.
This role requires strong technical leadership, ensuring design development, programme control, and stakeholder coordination are managed efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the planning and detailed design process through external consultants.
2. Coordinate and resolve technical and design issues during design, construction, and post-completion.
3. Prepare and maintain technical programmes and reports.
4. Coordinate the Pre-Tender Health & Safety Plan with external CDM consultants.
5. Provide technical input during procurement and tender reviews.
6. Brief, appoint, and manage external design consultants.
7. Liaise with statutory authorities, utilities, and warranty providers.
8. Chair and attend technical and design coordination meetings.
9. Advise senior management on technical and delivery matters, providing practical solutions.
Experience Required
10. Strong knowledge of the residential development and technical delivery process.
11. Experience managing design and technical aspects of construction projects.
12. Ability to manage programmes, consultants, and multiple stakeholders.
13. Confident communicator with a collaborative approach.
