*Job Summary*
We are seeking a skilled or Semi Skilled dedicated HGV Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), and Trailers. This role requires a strong mechanical background, proficiency with electrical systems, and the ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools. The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards. *Responsibilities*
* Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs, Trailers
* Diagnose faults using schematics and electrical diagrams
* Use hand tools and power tools to replace parts, repair components, and carry out modifications
* Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities
* Assist with equipment upgrades and modifications as required
* Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
* Assist in the training of junior team members when necessary
* Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely as part of routine maintenance procedures
*Requirements*
* Proven experience as an HGV mechanic or in a similar heavy vehicle repair role
* Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in electrical systems, and schematics interpretation
* Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
* Knowledge of vehicle assembly, equipment repair, and maintenance procedures
* Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
* Good organisational skills for record keeping and reporting tasks
* Customer service orientation with effective communication skills
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical or electrical engineering are desirable but not essential

Pay: £30,000.00-£49,588.00 per year
