Department Overview
The MJ Quinn Traffic Management Department is MJ Quinn’s in- house provider for traffic management, solutions, dedicated to ensuring the safety and efficiency of road networks. We collaborate closely with local authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality traffic management services.
Job Objective
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee a team of coordinators and liaise with Traffic Management partners and direct labour resources to ensure the successful planning and execution of traffic management projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of traffic management projects.
* Oversee a team of coordinators to ensure project tasks are completed on time and within budget.
* Liaise with Traffic Management Partners and Direct Labour resources to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
* Responsible for liaison and coordination of the TM programmes of external Local Authorities and Public Utility Contractors in accordance with the NRSWA act as first point of contact for all day-to-day issues.
* Liaison with all associated authorities (e.g. Highways England, Police, Local Highway Authorities) to ensure effective planning and coordination of traffic events.
* Monitor project progress and provide regular updated to the Manager.
* Prepare project documentation, including reports, schedules, and budgets.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
* Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing invoices and drafting estimates.
* Monitor and report on traffic management performance metrics.
* Act as a point of contact for resolving traffic-related concerns and disputes.
Requirements:
* Valid LANTRA or NRSWA qualifications (12D or 12AB preferred)
* Proven experience in traffic management, ideally in a supervisory or team leader role.
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and risk assessments.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Full UK driving license (essential)
Desirable:
* First Aid Certification
* Experience working with local authorities or utility companies.
* Knowledge of digital reporting tools or traffic management software.
