Purpose of post
CIW is the independent regulator of social care and childcare. CIW registers, inspects and takes action to improve the quality and safety of services for the well‑being of the people of Wales. The post holder will report to the Senior Manager Project, Data and ICT Services and will shape and oversee the management of data collection, analysis and performance management on behalf of CIW.
Key tasks
* Work with the Senior Manager to develop a strategy to shape and deliver a data service enabling the organisation to be truly intelligence‑led.
* Work with colleagues across CIW to identify their information requirements and lead on the development of appropriate solutions, including reports and self‑service data tools.
* Advance the use of data analysis techniques to produce analysis and predictive models, providing greater insight from the data.
* Build and maintain networks with providers of social care and childcare related knowledge for Wales, ensuring CIW is aware of data sources and that its information needs are represented.
* Direct line management of 5 x HEOs and 1 x EO.
* Plan the team’s work and implement performance‑management arrangements that underpin and evidence delivery.
* Manage data collection, dissemination, analysis and presentation of data.
* Lead on the production of regular and ad‑hoc performance reports to the Executive Leadership Team.
* Lead on the development of an annual plan of work to ensure adequate coverage for the audit and review of the CRM system, ensuring data integrity is achieved and maintained; contribute to Digital Development, including information and reporting requirements.
* Manage own professional development and seek appropriate opportunities in discussion with the Senior Manager.

Location
Pan Wales. The role can be based in one of CIW’s main offices in Merthyr, Carmarthen or Llandudno Junction, with the possibility of working from home up to two days a week, depending on business need.

* Technical: Demonstrate strong IT skills and experience with a variety of packages, particularly Excel, SQL and Power BI.
