Personal Assistant required for family in Norwich - 6 hrs p/w @ £13.75 p/h
Job description: Supports a disabled mother and her two children with daily tasks which include supported activities, food preparation, domestic care and personal care.
* Assist 9‑year‑old son in the morning: breakfast, packed lunches, getting ready for school
* Support both children with activities
* Personal care: showering, hair washing
* Housework: vacuuming, mopping, laundry, bed changes, general maintenance
* Trips to the park, days out to places of interest
* Collecting medications
* Support with medical appointments
* Shopping
* Batch cooking
Person specification
Essential:
* Comfortable with children and teenagers
* Understanding/experience with Autism
* Confident around dogs
* Patient
* Empathetic listener
* Reliable
* Outgoing
* Use own initiative
Desirable:
* Experience working in domestic care
* Flexible (cover other colleagues' holiday and sickness when required)
Summary terms and conditions
* Hourly rate: £13.75
* Hours and times: 6 hours per week – Friday 15:15 to 18:15 and Sunday 15:00 to 18:00
* Free training provided to employed staff
* Annual holiday entitlement: equivalent to the work normally expected in 5.6 consecutive weeks
* May require manual handling, handling of hazardous chemicals and food handling – annual training required
* Required to pass an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check (cost covered by employer)
* Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be current or last employer
* Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months
