At the NMC, we're committed to delivering excellence by living our values and behaviours every day. We foster a workplace built on these, ensuring every team member thrives and contributes to our purpose. This role is aligned with our behaviour framework, and we'll assess you on four of these-Collaborating and Including, Communicating with Impact, Compassionate and People-Centred, and Achieving Results-in addition to your technical skills and experience. Please read the person specification in the job description for further details of exactly what we'll be assessing you on. About the team and what we do Our Screening team plays a vital role in protecting the public by assessing initial concerns raised about nurses, midwives and nursing associates. As the first stage in our Fitness to Practise process, the team ensures that each referral is reviewed efficiently, thoroughly, and fairly, helping to determine what regulatory action-if any-is needed. You'll be joining a small but high-performing legal-administrative team responsible for managing sensitive information, progressing cases, and upholding the integrity of our regulatory process. The work is fast-paced and meaningful, with every case contributing to public safety and professional accountability. Your role and impact You'll be responsible for processing incoming referrals and supporting the progression of cases through our fitness to practise system. This includes reviewing documents, managing correspondence, updating internal systems, and maintaining accurate case records. Your work will directly support case reviewers and decision-makers, ensuring that the right information is available at the right time. You'll play a key role in keeping our processes moving efficiently, enabling us to take timely action to protect the public.
* A confident communicator who can engage professionally with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
* Highly organised with a strong attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities and maintain accuracy under pressure.
* A collaborative team player who values inclusion and brings a positive, people-centred approach to their work.
* Resilient, dependable and committed to delivering a high standard of administrative support in a fast-paced regulatory environment.
You'll also need experience in customer-focused or regulatory environments, handling complex information or data entry, and working to clearly defined procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit team doing high-impact work that contributes directly to public protection. If you're passionate about making a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
