Are you an experienced Management Accountant looking for a broad, hands-on role in a unique and varied business environment? We’re working with a privately-owned group of companies based in rural North Yorkshire to find a commercially minded, detail-driven accountant to join their small and friendly finance team.

The business operates across multiple sectors, including agriculture, rural leisure, property, equestrian, and interior design — offering exposure to a diverse range of financial responsibilities.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller and working as part of a tight-knit team, you’ll be responsible for:
1. Preparing monthly management accounts
2. Conducting balance sheet reconciliations and reviews
3. Providing cost analysis to department managers
4. Producing weekly cash flow forecasts
5. Preparing quarterly UK and foreign VAT returns
6. Maintaining stock records (e.g. livestock/feed)
7. Managing fixed asset registers
8. Processing seasonal payroll (training provided if needed)
9. Supporting with budgeting, forecasting, and year-end accounts
10. Handling ONS submissions and ad hoc finance admin (including some ledger tasks)
What We’re Looking For:
This role would suit someone either AAT qualified, part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA), or qualified by experience. Just as important as your technical background is your ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Key skills and experience:
11. Solid experience producing management accounts (essential)
12. Advanced Excel capability
13. Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Payroll
14. UK and foreign VAT understanding
15. Experience with imports/exports is a plus
16. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
17. Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving
