We are working in partnership with a top manufacturing organisation in North West Kent. This business is a leading UK-based manufacturer with a 135-year heritage of innovation and excellence. They specialise in advanced engineering solutions for high-profile government and security partners.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join their Production team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where precision is paramount.
The Role
Reporting to the Production Director, you will play a key part in manufacturing components using precision engineering techniques. You will be manufacturing complex metal parts out of steel and brass to very tight tolerances (as little as 1 micron tolerance).
Key Duties:
* Operating VMC and 5-Axis CNC machines (specifically Doosan machines with Fanuc controls).
* Performing "First Offs," checking dimensional quality, and amending machine settings to meet component design requirements.
* Setting up and operating all types of manual machining equipment, covering milling, turning, grinding, and marking processes.
* Operating to acceptable production targets whilst maintaining a "right-first-time" standard of quality.
* Problem identification and rectification.
Candidate Requirements
Our client values locality and longevity in previous roles. While 5-Axis experience is preferred, we will accept candidates with strong 3-Axis+ experience.
Essential Skills:
* Experience:
Previous experience as a CNC Operator, specifically using Fanuc controls.
* Technical Ability:
Ability to read engineering drawings and comprehension of geometric tolerancing.
* Quality Standards:
Good working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Systems.
* Hand Skills:
Good ability with hand tools such as files, grinders, drills, and riveting.
* Attitude:
High level of proactivity, enthusiasm, and a professional willingness to learn.

Due to the highly regulated nature of the manufacturing environment and the products involved, successful candidates must be able to undergo and pass:

The Package
* Salary:
£30,000 maximum salary plus unlimited overtime at 1.5 times pay
* Work-Life Balance:
Excellent Monday to Thursday working week (06:30 – 16:20).
* Future Benefits:
5% annual bonus (based on company performance) and inflationary salary increases are eligible from 2027.
* Contract:
2-Year Fixed Term.
Desirable (but not essential):
* Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck Licence.
* Cylindrical and surface grinding experience.
* Capable of using Microsoft Office applications.
