Purchase Ledger Clerk
Hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday
Holiday: 25 days, increasing to 30 days with service
Salary: Up to £28,000 (depending on experience)
Summary:
Our finance team is looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to help with purchase ledger accounting and other financial activities. The ideal candidate must have strong attention to detail, previous experience of process improvement and automation, an understanding of accounting principles and exceptional organisational and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Reconciling supplier invoices and variance resolution.
Reporting discrepancies resulting from reconciliation analysis to management.
Balance sheet reconciliations.
Reconciling supplier statements.
Bank reconciliations.
Process improvement and documentation where necessary.
Supporting the prepayment and accrual process.
Corresponding with suppliers to resolve queries on accounts.
Matching invoices to purchase orders.
Checking and logging purchase invoices.
Producing payment runs.
Disputing supplier invoices and obtaining credit notes.
Liaising with team members and other teams.
Key Requirements:
Must have purchase ledger experience.
IT literate with excellent Microsoft Excel knowledge.
Sage 200 experience is preferred but any Sage experience is an advantage.
You will have both excellent verbal and written communication skills.
You will be a positive, pro-active and personable individual with a sense of humour who will fit in well with this dynamic small team of individuals.
You will be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines without direct, daily supervision.
Ad hoc duties as requested by the Finance Manager.
