Position Details

Permanent, Part-time (30 hours per week), Term-time only.

Start date: Monday 2nd February 2026 (or earlier, to allow handover).

Salary: Point 24 of the Support Staff Pay Spine, Pro rata salary £29,094 (£42,081 FTE per annum).

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm.


Role Overview

The Library and Digital Resources Centre plays a fundamental role in the success of Hills Road Sixth Form College. Led by the post-holder, the team of four provide an efficient and friendly service to our 16-19 A Level students and staff, ensuring the range of resources available are up to date, easy to access, and well managed and monitored. The Library is a popular space for students to complete their independent study, and the Library team are responsible for ensuring it is a calm, welcoming, and enjoyable space for students to work in. You will play a key role in embedding a refreshed Library team culture, fostering collaboration and innovation as we adapt to evolving student needs. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the team and add your vision to a major refurbishment of the Library space, creating a modern, inspiring environment for independent learning and digital innovation. Recently rated 'outstanding' again, Hills Road Sixth Form College continues to enjoy a strong national reputation for excellence in education.


Responsibilities

* Lead the team of four to provide an efficient and friendly service to 16-19 A Level students and staff, ensuring resources are up to date, easy to access, and well‑managed and monitored.
* Maintain the Library as a calm, welcoming, and enjoyable space for independent study.
* Embed a refreshed Library team culture, fostering collaboration and innovation to adapt to evolving student needs.
* Lead the vision and implementation of a major refurbishment of the Library space, creating a modern, inspiring environment for independent learning and digital innovation.
