About us: Cal-Test Technical Services Limited are currently on the lookout for a Laboratory Technician to work on a full-time permanent basis. Cal-Test Technical Services limited is a UKAS Accredited, bespoke test lab to one of Europe's biggest Manufacturers of Pipes, Flanges and fittings to the petrochemical, Nuclear and Oil and Gas world. We pride ourselves to be able to supply, high-quality Technical Testing Services that meets our customer expectations, fulfils all statutory requirements, and provides a safe working environment for all our staff and its visitors.
Role Profile
* We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong skills in both CNC lathe and CNC milling operations using FANUC control systems to produce Charpy impact and tensile test specimens to ASTM/ISO standards. You will work closely with our materials testing team to ensure dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and notch geometry meet strict industry requirements.
Competence Requirements:
* Operate CNC lathes and milling machines with FANUC controls to produce tensile and Charpy specimens from various metals and alloys.
* Machine components to exact tolerances to ASTM A370/ ASTM E8 / ISO 6892 and ASTM E23
* Perform basic machine maintenance and keep work area organized.
* Select and set up appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and fixtures.
