Wakefield Council is seeking an experienced and committed Team Manager – Alternative Provision to play a key role in supporting children and young people who are at risk of exclusion or unable to access mainstream education.

Reporting to the Service Manager for Alternative Provision, you will lead the operational delivery of the service, working closely with schools and partner agencies to improve educational outcomes, wellbeing and inclusion. A central part of the role is leading and operating a successful Inclusion Panel system, ensuring timely, high-quality and consistent decision-making that supports children to remain engaged in learning wherever possible.

You will bring strong knowledge of Alternative Provision, exclusions and SEND legislation, alongside the ability to lead staff, manage complex operational demands and build effective relationships with a wide range of partners across education, health and social care.
