Job summary
We are looking for a self driven individual working in an advanced clinical role, leading and developing nursing practice within the specialty. The post holder must demonstrate a sound knowledge and experience in the specialist area of breast disease and fulfil the 4 pillars of an advanced practice role.
The post holder should have experience of independent breast examination practise.
Main duties of the job
The Royal Free Hospital is currently expanding the services offered by the breast unit. We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a band 8a advanced nurse practitioner to lead our newly developed breast pain service. We are working with NCL to develop a community based breast pain only service, which will incorporate our continued specialist interest in breast family history and genetics as part of a national breast pain research project. This post offers experienced advanced nurse practitioners with independent breast examination experience, to shape this model of breast pain services for the future.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Registered Nurse
2. Degree in relevant specialty
3. Masters or working towards
4. Advanced Assessment Qualification
5. Extensive teaching experience

6. Non-medical prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake

7. Substantial experience in a senior nurse operational role in an acute NHS setting
8. Experience in setting up and running nurse led clinics
9. Proven ability to initiate audits/research & assess evidence
10. Knowledge and experience of leading significant change, delivering tangible and sustained improvements
11. Experience of developing business and workforce plans in line with future service requirements
12. Extensive knowledge and experience of practice and policy across a broad range of responsibilities, financial systems & budgetary control, corporate and clinical governance, health & safety and human resources
13. Experience of motivating staff and improving individuals and team performance
14. Experience of managing employment relation issues
15. Able to build rapport and credibility with senior clinical and managerial colleagues
