Overview
The post-holder will deliver, develop and support the clinical pharmacy services in a variety of specialties within the Barnet and Chase Farm pharmacy departments on a rotational basis, in accordance with priorities agreed by the lead pharmacist and the specialist site lead pharmacist.
Responsibilities
* Promote the safe, cost‑effective and rational use of drug therapy to provide optimal pharmaceutical care to patients, families and carers.
* Work with the multidisciplinary team to support and improve patient flow by participating in ward rounds, reviewing complex medication regimens, taking drug histories, monitoring drug interactions, ensuring efficient drug supply and planning discharges.
* Supply regular and detailed information and assistance to the Division regarding the clinical and financial aspects of drug prescribing and use.

Competencies (12–24 month target for newly qualified pharmacists)
* Completion of Trust appraisal process as satisfactory.
* Completion/approaching completion of PGCert GPP or equivalent.
* Completion of portfolio review against the Foundation Pharmacist Framework.
* Delivery of a presentation as part of the departmental teaching programme.
* Delivery of a presentation as part of the Trainee Pharmacist teaching programme.
* Contribution to service development (e.g., audit, service evaluation, quality improvement project or development of a Standard Operating Procedure).
Working Hours & Call Duties
This is a full‑time post, with evening, weekend, bank holiday and on‑call duties pro rata.

The Pharmacy Department is a busy, friendly, progressive and expanding unit dedicated to providing world‑class standards of pharmaceutical care. Pharmacy services incorporate robotic automation and other cutting‑edge technologies. We practice near‑patient dispensing throughout the majority of the hospital and work with transcribers, independent prescribers and accuracy‑checking technicians within our highly skilled clinical teams.
