A well known client in Nottingham is seeking an enthusiastic and detail‑driven Civil Technician to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the delivery of high‑quality civil engineering projects across a diverse portfolio, working within a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary practice.
The role
As a Civil Technician, you’ll play a key role in preparing technical drawings, models, and documentation for a range of civil and infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with engineers, architects, and other design professionals to deliver coordinated, accurate, and efficient design outputs.
Responsibilities
* Produce high‑quality civil engineering drawings and models using AutoCAD and Civils 3D
* Support the design of highways, drainage, earthworks, and external works
* Prepare technical details, setting‑out information, and design layouts
* Assist with preparing calculations, reports, and schedules
* Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
* Ensure all work complies with relevant standards, regulations, and QA processes
* Contribute to continuous improvement of CAD/BIM workflows within the team
About
We’re looking for someone with strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to grow within a supportive engineering environment.
Essential:
* Experience as a Civil/Infrastructure Technician in consultancy or similar environment
* Proficient in AutoCAD
* Familiarity with Civils 3D or a willingness to develop skills in it
* Good understanding of drainage, levels, and highways design principles
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
Desirable:
* Experience with MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage
* Knowledge of S104, S38, S278 processes
* Revit or BIM experience
* ONC/HNC in Civil Engineering or related discipline
