This is a permanent position based in Rochdale supporting young people in a residential home. The age group is 16-18 Care Leaver support.

Although permanent, we are looking for someone who can start very quickly on a temp to perm basis.

If you have a DBS on the update service, you can start quickly on a temp to permanent basis, with 12 weeks temp then going perm after that.

Whilst temping, the hourly rate will be £15.50 per hour plus sleeps.

The salary when permanent will be £28,000 - £32,000 a year depending on level 3 / experience.

Qualifications:

* NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or Health and Social Care

Essential Experience:

* Supporting young people in a residential setting

Preferred Criteria:

* Driving License

Semester Recruitment specialises in supporting young people aged 5-18 in supported living, semi-independent accommodation, and children’s residential homes.

Shifts are typically 24-hour sleepovers on a 1 on 2 off basis.

It is essential that you have experience working within a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ3 Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification within this sector.

Requirements:

* High standard of general education
* NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care – Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent
* Willingness to undertake further training
* Current full driving license with business insurance (preferable)

Job Purpose:

To be responsible for providing support for vulnerable people (service users) for the company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Assist the young person’s allocated social worker in the delivery of the service.
2. Provide transport/escort to the young person as directed in line with care plans.
3. Conduct welcome and induction for young people.
4. Ongoing assessments of service users’ needs.
5. Provide ongoing support and monitoring of service users.
6. Assist in welfare and NHS issues.
7. Preparation of reports.
8. Arrange appointments with various partner agencies.
9. Maintain regular contact with young people.
10. Inform customers of support groups.
