We are looking for a motivated and organised Ward Clerk to join our Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) team in Glangwili Hospital. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the clinical team, by providing efficient administrative and clerical support, helping to ensure that patients receive timely and high quality care.
SDEC provides rapid assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients who can be managed on the same day without needing hospital admission. This will be a patient facing role, as you will be the first point of contact for patients and staff .
The successful applicant must demonstrate strong organisation, precise communication and excellent interpersonal skills. The team are looking for someone who is diligent, motivated, and detail-oriented, to assist with a variety of administrative duties. These include updating hospital systems with efficient handling of data, managing medical records, ensuring timely delivery of referrals and answering telephone calls.
Full training will be provided to support the successful applicant in their role.
Main duties of the job
Assist the staff in administrative duties relating to the management of the ward e.g. acting on telephone messages / photocopying and scanning case notes for patient transfers etc.
The candidate should have excellent Information technology skills, with a good telephone manner, capable of updating records, filing, dealing with incoming and outgoing post, arranging appointments and ambulance bookings.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
