At CrossReach, our housekeeping teams play a vital role in creating safe, welcoming and comfortable environments for the people we support. We are looking for a Relief Housekeeping Assistant to join our team and help maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the service, supporting both residents and colleagues as part of a wider care team.

What your role will involve

1. Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the building in line with CrossReach standards
2. Supporting day to day housekeeping tasks as directed by senior staff
3. Working flexibly on a relief basis, including shifts allocated via rota
4. Assisting individuals to maintain their personal space in line with their personal plans
5. Supporting new colleagues to learn housekeeping routines and standards
6. Taking part in staff meetings, training and health and safety requirements
7. Following COSHH guidance and safe working practices at all times

About you

You will be reliable, practical and take pride in creating clean and well organised spaces. You will be comfortable working as part of a team, able to follow guidance from senior colleagues and respectful in your approach to supporting others. Previous experience in a care or similar setting is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided. Basic computer skills, including email and internet use, are required.

As a Christian organisation, you will need to have a respect for all aspects of Christian worship.

You will also need to become a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to adhere to the SSSC Code of practice.
