Mobile IT Technician (Field-Based) £19.34 per hour (Umbrella) Contract | Jan-Dec 2026 | Full-Time | Mon-Fri | 09:00-17:30 Location: Central Birmingham & West/East Midlands (Must live within 20 miles) Clearance: Must be eligible for SC Clearance Driving Licence: Essential Overview We're recruiting an experienced Mobile Technician to join a major UK technology services provider, supporting multiple enterprise accounts and secure public sector projects across the Midlands. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys varied workloads, customer-facing support, and being out on the road each day. This is a 12?month contract running from January to December 2026, with strong potential for renewal based on project pipeline. Key Responsibilities Deliver support on-site across multiple customer locations Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues Carry out break-fix, device swaps, imaging, configuration, upgrades Support multi-site technical rollouts (e.g., secure device refreshes, payment system deployments) Liaise with project and service teams to meet SLAs Provide high-quality face-to-face customer service Travel throughout Central Birmingham and the wider Midlands region Types of Projects You'll Support Major finance and banking clients Automotive and engineering organisations Telecoms & enterprise infrastructure environments Government-linked programmes (defence, justice, health, secure systems) National chip-and-pin, POS and workplace refresh rollouts Requirements Essential Full UK driving licence Experience in mobile/field-based technical support Confident with Windows troubleshooting, imaging & hardware repair Strong face-to-face communication and customer service skills Able to work independently across multiple daily site visits Data Centre Operations, troubleshooting Eligible for Security Clearance (SC) Desirable Vendor certifications (Dell/HP/Lenovo) Break-fix or desktop engineering background Experience in secure or enterprise environments Project rollout experience Location Requirement You must live within 20 miles of Central Birmingham to ensure effective coverage across the Midlands.
