Job Title: Literacy Intervention Assistant
Location: Hasland
Pay: £110 - £130 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Literacy Intervention Assistant to join our team in Hasland. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with behavioural, emotional, social, or learning difficulties, helping them build confidence and improve their literacy skills, and requires a full UK driving licence and business insurance, as you’ll be working both on-site and off-site, including in pupils’ homes where appropriate.
Responsibilities of the Literacy Intervention Assistant:
* Conduct baseline literacy assessments to identify each pupil’s strengths and areas for improvement.
* Deliver tailored literacy interventions, including phonics, reading for pleasure, oracy, and writing development.
* Support pupils who are disaffected or face emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them re-engage with learning.
* Collaborate with teaching staff and SEN teams to monitor progress and adjust support strategies accordingly.
* Work flexibly across school and home settings to provide consistent, personalised literacy support.
Requirements:
* Experience supporting pupils with literacy or special educational needs.
* Strong understanding of literacy development strategies, including phonics and reading interventions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate learners.
* Ability to work independently and manage a flexible timetable across different sites.
* Full UK driving licence and business insurance (essential).
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
