BCUSU is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Kitchen Team Leader Apprentice to join our hospitality team across our busy student pub kitchen and pizza kitchen.
The role
As a Kitchen Team Leader Apprentice, you will be responsible for:
* Leading kitchen operations during shifts
* Supervising and supporting Kitchen Assistants
* Preparing and serving food to agreed specifications and standards
* Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and allergen standards
* Supporting stock control, ordering and waste reduction
* Using EPOS and kitchen management systems
* Completing your Level 3 Senior Production Chef apprenticeship

Job type
Fixed term, full time contract for 12 months, with possibility of becoming permanent.
Wage
£16,000 a year
Hours
35 hours per week.
Eagle & Ball is open weekdays 12pm - 11pm and is currently closed on weekends but may require coverage of shifts for weekend private hire bookings.
Our pub is also closed on bank holidays and study breaks during Winter, Easter and Summer.
Requirements
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
* Minimum 1 year’s experience working in a commercial kitchen
* Demonstrates willingness to learn, receive feedback and complete apprenticeship requirements
* Demonstrable knowledge of food safety, HACCP, allergen management, and health & safety in kitchens

Training
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
Successful completion of the Senior Production Chef Level 3 apprenticeship can provide a strong foundation for progression within the hospitality and catering industry.
