PETROINEOS Grangemouth We are looking for a Machinery Engineer (Asset Care) on a full time, 37.5 hours, temporary basis to join our Engineering team based at Grangemouth. The purpose of the role is to be accountable for the development and implementation of Rotating Equipment Asset Care Policy within Refinery Assets. Responsibilities include regulatory compliance and the implementation of new and changing standards for assigned Refinery Assets. Key Accountabilities:
1. Implementation of the Rotating Equipment Asset Care Policies for the Refinery responsible for defining the strategy for routine maintenance, spares holdings and frequency of major overhauls to ensure availability and reliability of equipment on site
2. Provision of discipline engineering to the Asset Team to ensure required technical input to deliver integrity, safety and reliability of the maintenance, modification and operation of the Asset. This will include support for the vulnerability process and administration of contracts for provision of technical support
3. Management of a robust rotating equipment condition monitoring program that is proactive and drives equipment reliability maintenance this includes equipment vibration monitoring, mechanical seal performance and lubrication oil analysis
4. Pre-engineering, planning and execution of the overhaul of equipment carried out during the Refinery Turnarounds Program to ensure the turnaround schedule is met and the reliability of the equipment through the next run cycle
5. Audit of spares holdings for critical equipment between the existing and the strategy detailed on the asset care policy to maximize equipment availability in case of online critical equipment failures
6. Set the quality requirements for critical equipment and spares overhauls / replacement and ensure contractor compliance with standards
7. Approve that equipment modifications and repairs meet the required engineering standards and follow agreed processes through the use of the plant modification process
8. As the technical expert, lead investigations into equipment failures through routine root cause analysis to identify opportunity to eliminate failures and improve MTBF
9. Support and/or lead safety investigations into rotating equipment failures to ensure mitigating actions are identified to prevent failures
10. Ensure site rotating equipment is assessed against current regulatory requirements by keeping abreast of changes in site standards
11. Approve Refinery Project SOR¿s for new equipment / equipment improvements and provide asset support to ensure projects are aligned with the asset care policies and deliver the machinery improvement targets for the Refinery
12. Manage annual NRR (Non Recurring Revenue) submissions and expenditures to ensure critical material items are available to Asset as insurances or in support of Asset Turnaround program
13. Ensure that the Maximo database for all equipment has the correct technical details, master maintenance documents and properly schedules preventive maintenance to achieve the Asset Care Policy
14. Coach Manufacturing Technicians in equipment basic care and mentor the Asset Care Engineers in the application and interpretation of equipment diagnostics to deliver continuous reliability improvement across the assets
Requirements:
15. Minimum HNC Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Degree / Chartered Status
16. In depth equipment maintenance experience preferably in Chemical / Petrochemical Plants
17. Chartered Status preferred but not essential. Alternatively, a Mechanical Engineering Graduate with a supporting development and training plan in a Chemical or Petrochemical environment. Specialist knowledge of all types of pumps, compressors, turbines and ancillary equipment types, their construction, operation and design in operation within the Refinery
18. Competent in major equipment overhaul and the application of condition monitoring process and diagnostics
19. Knowledge of Refinery standards as determined by competency matrix
