Due to the upcoming retirement of one of our team, we have a unique opportunity to join our dedicated team of Hospitality Assistants who provide excellent customer service to the patients and their loved ones whilst staying at the Hospice. I have been at the Hospice for 20 years, and for the last eight years I have been working as a Hospitality Assistant. Everyone is so friendly and it is a lovely job. After 20 years I am now retiring, so to whoever joins the team I am sure you will find it rewarding too."
This is truly a unique role and a vital part of the experience our patients and their loved ones receive whilst at St John's. This role is for 12 hours per week, working 2 x 6-hour shifts. Shifts are either7am - 1.30pm (early) or 1.30pm - 8pm (late).
As a Hospitality Assistant you will liaise with patients, nursing staff & our catering team to ensure that patients receive refreshments, when required, that meet their nutritional, cultural and religious requirements. Ensuring that the appropriate crockery & eating utensils are provided for the patient and following use are correctly cleaned and put away.
Occasionally you will be required to support the team in our Courtyard Café. Our Café is a social business where our catering team fulfils an important role in delivering a high level of quality food and customer service to our Café customers, patients, visitors, volunteers and staff. When working in the Café you will be part of a team who deliver outstanding customer service in a friendly and welcoming environment.
