Our client, Guardian Jobs, is seeking a Director of Technology to shape and lead the technology strategy in support of the University’s long-term ambitions. You will oversee the operation and development of technology services, drive digital transformation, and ensure systems, data, and infrastructure are robust, secure, and future-focused. As a member of the University’s leadership, you will align technology with strategic objectives and deliver innovative solutions that enhance the student and staff experience.

What You’ll Do
* Develop and deliver a forward-thinking technology strategy that supports the University’s mission and growth.
* Lead and mentor a high-performing technology team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional development.
* Drive digital transformation projects, leveraging new and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and user experience.
* Work in close partnership with departments across the University to understand their needs and deliver effective technology solutions.
* Oversee the successful delivery of technology projects, ensuring they are on time, within scope, and within budget.
* Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of technology services and initiatives.
* Lead on cyber security, compliance, and data protection, implementing robust governance frameworks and policies.
* Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service levels to ensure best value and performance.
* Keep abreast of industry trends and innovations, recommending solutions to strengthen technology capabilities.
* Manage day-to-day technology operations, including escalations, outage management, and enterprise communication.
What You’ll Bring
* Degree-level education and significant experience in senior technology leadership roles.
* Proven track record of developing and implementing technology strategies that deliver digital transformation and align with organisational goals.
* Strong expertise in cyber security, data governance, and compliance.
* Demonstrable experience of leading large-scale technology projects using both agile and waterfall methodologies.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and manage a diverse team.
* Strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
* Hands-on experience in technology deployment, integration, and ongoing management.
* Vendor management and contract negotiation expertise.
* Proficiency with both Microsoft and MacSuite applications and infrastructure.
