About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineer to join our team and play a key role within the Engineering division. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career and join a global business with a £2 billion+ turnover.
In this position, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all site equipment in line with department and operational strategy, ensuring all engineering activities comply with technical legislation. Strong communication and a proactive, hands-on approach are key to this role to drive performance and manage effective working relationships.
Shift: 4 on 4 off, 7am - 7pm
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Attend breakdowns promptly and make repairs to a world-class standard.
2. Record and book out parts used and diagnostics of each breakdown.
3. Complete regular machine maintenance programmes to reduce downtime and complete relevant paperwork.
4. Identify ways to maximise machine uptime through enhanced cleaning or maintenance schedules.
5. Work in a clean, safe environment at all times, monitoring work areas to ensure safety and adherence to safe working practices.
6. Liaise with preferred contractors, monitoring them through the PTW system while on site.
7. Carry out repairs and maintenance on buildings, facilities, utilities, and all site plant and equipment as required.
8. Make recommendations to the Engineer Manager and Departmental Manager for productivity improvements and cost reductions.
9. Optimise the use of company resources while complying with policies and procedures.
What are we looking for?
* Electrical qualification with extensive mechanical experience.
* ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical.
* PLC Programming/Diagnostic Knowledge.
* Qualified to 17th edition wiring regulations.
* Proven FMCG work experience.
* Experience with single/three-phase electrical circuits.
* Effective communication skills with confidence to challenge and question.
* Flexible and self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude.
* Logical and analytical thinking skills.
* Desirable skills/experience include IOSH Certification and knowledge of VFFMs and weighing equipment.
