TE Connectivity’s Manufacturing and Process Engineering teams play a pivotal role in LEANPD-driven new product development. They drive excellence in existing manufacturing technologies while introducing innovative processes to enhance precision and efficiency. Acting as the bridge between product development and manufacturing, they ensure seamless integration and manufacturability of new designs. This role supports product development by optimizing designs for manufacturability, developing prototypes, and designing and qualifying tooling and processes. The team also ensures compliance with TE quality standards, supports supplier capability assessments, and leads continuous improvement initiatives in quality, cost, and cycle time.
Your Main Tasks
* Champion a culture of safety by ensuring all activities follow safe working practices.
* Drive continuous improvement in processes, procedures, and products to meet cost‑saving targets.
* Analyze product requirements to determine optimal manufacturing routes and equipment.
* Collaborate with Product Development to align extrusion and molding processes with machine capabilities.
* Research and implement new technologies to improve quality, reduce costs, or increase capacity.
* Develop and issue Standard Work Instructions and procedures to support operational excellence.
* Ensure all process changes are documented and communicated in line with business procedures.
* Support lead engineers in implementing new processes and validations.
* Plan, execute, and evaluate documentation for new equipment and plant trials.
* Analyze production and technical data to identify and resolve issues.
* Provide hands‑on support for day‑to‑day manufacturing challenges.
* Evaluate and respond to shop floor suggestions, providing feedback on feasibility.
* Investigate and resolve customer complaints with robust, timely solutions.
* Maintain regular communication with Technical, Planning, and Production Managers on project progress.
* Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to resolve machine issues and implement lasting improvements.
* Take ownership of personal development to enhance contribution to the business.
Your Ideal Background
* Proven experience in manufacturing, new product and process development, automation, and equipment design.
* Familiarity with extrusion processes, tooling, and high‑shear compound mixing is advantageous.
* Proficiency in CAD; knowledge of control systems is a plus.
* Strong communication skills, including presentations and public speaking.
* Fluent in English (spoken and written), with the ability to represent the company externally.
* Practical, hands‑on problem‑solving approach.
* Background in mechanical engineering (e.g., apprenticeship or equivalent experience).
