This role is located at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. The job is funded through the University of Warwick pay range and will be negotiated based on the applicant’s skills and experience.
About The Role
For informal enquiries, please contact Stephen Roper (Director of Enterprise Research Centre) at stephen.roper@wbs.ac.uk.
This Assistant Professor will participate in the leadership of the Enterprise Research Centre. The successful candidate will contribute actively to all aspects of research projects – including leading proposals, maintaining and developing datasets, conducting econometric estimation, and co‑authoring and presenting conference and academic papers. The post holder will be expected to take a lead role in managing some projects and the related staff and resources, and to contribute to the impact strategy and wider dissemination of research results to stakeholders and policymakers. Mentoring will be provided by the ERC leadership team.
About You
The post holder should ideally have a PhD in economics, business studies or a related quantitative social science discipline. The applicant must have demonstrable experience of quantitative methods and their application to entrepreneurship and small business, with essential experience working with large business datasets. Knowledge of panel data is highly desirable, as is a working knowledge of Stata. A strong interest in analysing business survey or administrative data and familiarity with the literature on entrepreneurship and small business is preferred. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex information both orally and in writing to diverse audiences, including non‑technical audiences outside academia (policy and practitioner). A track record of user engagement is highly desirable. Significant experience conducting research for publication and to support policy development, as well as engagement with international policy and research networks, would be a considerable benefit.
