An exciting role has opened within the new Argyll & Bute Enhanced Community Dementia Service.

We are looking to recruit a motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our growing service. The service comprises of three teams staffed with mental health nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, senior health care support workers and Alzheimer Scotland post diagnostic link workers. All of the teams are an integral part of the Argyll and Bute Enhanced Community Dementia service and work jointly with Community Health Services, Mental Health, Primary Care and other agencies including social care.

The service is currently in an exciting period of growth and transformation, to provide locality based specialist dementia care for pre, peri and post diagnostic dementia care and support.

This is an interesting and exciting opportunity that will provide you with a challenging and rewarding role within the multi professional dementia team, with both supervision and operational supervision being provided. The team aims to meet the needs of people living at home and to help facilitate discharges for people from inpatient settings. You will have the opportunity to contribute to further service improvements as the new enhanced team develops further and feedback is gained.

We are excited to be involved in shaping and improving of the service and experience of service users and developing multi-professional approach to maintain meaningful skill for our community patients and facilitate inpatients discharge back into the community setting.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:-

A Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy

Be registered with the Health & Care Professionals Council

Current driving licence essential

Relevant placement/Work experience in the specialist area of mental health or with older adults.

Competent assessment, treatment and discharge planning skills.
Delivery of occupational therapy treatment on an individual and/or group basis as required.

Considerable skills in communication, effective organisational and time management skills

Ability to help provide delivery of a high standard of service.
