We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and experienced Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Norwich, starting as soon as possible. The Role As a Year 5 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the curriculum, fostering independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours. You will prepare pupils for their transition into Year 6 and ensure they are confident, motivated, and ready for future learning. You will work closely with teaching assistants, Key Stage 2 colleagues, and senior leaders to maintain high standards and ensure a consistent, engaging learning experience. Strong communication with parents and carers is also essential to support pupil progress and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the Year 5 curriculum Track pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs Differentiate learning for all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues Communicate effectively with parents and carers Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and school initiatives The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5 Be confident delivering literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable Show a strong commitment to inclusion and safeguarding Work effectively as part of a collaborative team Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply and will receive mentoring and structured support.
