You will be primarily responsible for the administration of enterprise desktop infrastructure. You will be exposed to a broad range of industry-leading technology, with a focus on managing and supporting key technologies including Windows, web applications, VoIP, Office 365. Personal development is key within the team, and opportunities to expand skillsets are regularly available and supported.
This is a hybrid position requiring office attendance at our Worcester location twice a week. During your probationary period or early stages of your apprenticeship training, you may need to attend more frequently.
Key responsibilities
1. Act as an initial point of contact for internal IT support requests.
2. Maintain, repair, and test internal IT infrastructure and field items including desktops, laptops, telephones, peripherals, and servers.
3. Support network connectivity, switches, and patching.
4. Organize and dispatch hardware and software for system upgrades.
5. Enforce Open GI IT policies in line with governance and compliance requirements.
6. Maintain accurate records for all support calls logged.
7. Respond to issues within SLA and KPI standards.
8. Own support requests until resolution or escalation.
9. Maintain technical documentation for Internal Infrastructure.
10. Perform other duties as required.
11. Availability for on-call duties.
12. Follow change management procedures.
13. Work flexible hours as needed for support, projects, or maintenance.
14. Repair and test hardware.
15. Possession of a full driving license is desired.
Qualifications and skills include proven troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, basic understanding of PC architecture and networks, ability to work under pressure, and a flexible, proactive approach. The role requires a responsible attitude towards security, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a disciplined approach to project delivery.
