About the Team
We are the RUN Platform Engineering team, within ADP’s Small Business Services division. We are recognized as a leader in small business payroll, having more than 900,000 clients and generating around $2 billion in revenue. Our team is distributed between the US, UK, India, and is expanding in Brazil. About the Role
Lead the Build team within RUN Platform Engineering to modernize and evolve the software delivery ecosystem for the RUN Core platform. Drive cloud migration enablement, Infrastructure as Code, immutable infrastructure patterns, and DevOps engineering excellence while empowering application teams.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Vision
* Set a vision for the team.
* Own the roadmap and delivery outcomes.
* Align modernization with enterprise cloud migration strategy and security/compliance guardrails.
Technical Leadership
* Evolve and modernize exiting .NET build framework.
* Apply best practices for Configuration Management.
* Drive reproducible infra patterns (modules, registries, configuration baselines).
* Create golden image (Windows/Linux) pipelines (Packer + Shared Image Gallery).
* Standardize CI/CD templates, artifact versioning, and environment promotion flows.
* Champion IaC platform capabilities, immutable infrastructure, auto scaling, shift-left operational & security practices.
* Enable DB and Data platform developers (e.g., database as code, automated schema/DML governance, data visibility, and support tools).
* Improve observability: metrics, logs, trace, build performance KPIs.
* Create and update documentation, including system diagrams.
* Champion adoption of GenAI tools (eg, Copilot), aligned with enterprise AI strategy and standards.
Team & Delivery
* Lead, coach, and grow a cross-functional Build engineering team.
* Drive strong partnership with Platform Engineering teams (DevOps, SRE, DBA) and the overall software development organization.
* Instill agile flow (WIP limits, measurable throughput, outcome focus).
* Foster platform enablement mindset & self-service adoption.
* Remove delivery bottlenecks; expedite risk early; drive postmortem follow-through.
Operational Excellence
* Reduce build/image lead time and variance.
* Reduce direct engagement from Build team through enablement practices.
* Drive automation coverage (patch/image refresh, hotfixes, code branch management, release, and rollback).
Stakeholder Engagement
* Interface with Application, Program & Project Management, Security, Architecture, SRE, Cloud, Release Management, and Governance groups.
* Translate requirements into a prioritized roadmap, track delivery progress, provide updates and manage change.
Minimum Qualifications
* BS/BE in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent field.
* 7+ years engineering (DevOps / Platform / SRE); 2–3+ years people leadership.
* Proven delivery of platform modernization and process optimization initiatives.
* Experienced with both on-premises and Cloud ecosystems: servers, storage, networking, identity, image lifecycle, governance.
* Experienced with IaC at scale (Terraform modules, state management, tagging & policy).
* Experienced with CI/CD orchestration (Jenkins, Ansible or similar).
* Strong scripting (PowerShell + one of Python/Bash).
* Observability and operational metrics implementation.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Preferred
* Packer image pipelines (Windows sysprep + hardening; Linux baseline).
* Security & compliance automation (scanning, secret management, policy engines).
* Experience with database change automation (Liquibase) & data platform enablement.
* Zero-downtime & progressive delivery strategies.
* Experience applying GenAI tools to streamline development and operations.
* Governance of multi-environment artifact/version promotion.

Microsoft .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, Terraform, Packer, Jenkins, Ansible, Key Vault, WinRM/PowerShell DSC, Liquibase, Git, Artifact repos, Observability stack (Splunk, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor), Docker, Kubernetes.
Certifications (Nice to Have): Azure DevOps Engineer / Architect, Terraform Associate.
