Quality Inspector (CMM Operator/Programmer) Pay: £19.17 per hour Location: Burnley We’re seeking an experienced CMM Operator/Programmer to join a well-established quality team. Proficiency in using and programming MCosmos is essential for this role. Job Summary Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a key role in the inspection of precision machined parts, conducting first-off, batch, and final inspections. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with quality standards. Key Responsibilities * Operate and program CMMs using MCosmos, along with manual precision measuring tools. * Conduct first-off, batch, and final inspections. * Ensure components meet drawing tolerances and customer specifications. * Collaborate with production and quality teams to address and resolve issues promptly. * Complete and log NCR reports, adhering to company procedures. * Support quality improvement initiatives and assist with corrective and root cause analysis. * Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and fit for purpose. * Maintain and support Quality Management Systems (QMS). Experience & Skills Required * Proven experience in precision engineering and quality inspection roles. * Proficiency in operating and programming CMMs (essential). * Strong working knowledge of precision measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, etc.). * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications. * Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (IFS experience is desirable). * Competent with Office 365 applications. * Knowledge of continuous improvement processes and quality standards. Qualifications * City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. * HNC/HND qualification is advantageous but not essential.
