The Role:
We are looking for a strategic individual with proven experience in leading and developing finance team to join Kubus! Working closely with the Finance Director and Senior Management, this role combines oversight of financial reporting, planning and analysis with a commitment to continuous improvement in processes and controls and driving business performance.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Strategic Financial Management
5. Own the accurate and timely delivery of monthly management accounts, group consolidations and KPI management reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
6. Oversee the preparation of board packs and financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
7. Resolve operational finance challenges across sales and purchase ledger, credit approvals, invoicing, reconciliations and query resolution, working closely with Sales and Operational teams.
8. Assist in leading the annual budgeting and a formal reforecasting process (monthly and quarterly), working closely with all relevant stakeholders.
9. Provide strategic financial analysis, commercial insight and recommendations to support business growth, investment decisions and risk management.
Business Partnering
10. Act as a trusted advisor to the Finance Director and senior leadership, providing financial guidance and challenge to drive performance.
11. Work with the FP&A Manager and cross-functional teams to develop financial models and scenario analyses that provide financial expertise and support for business growth, investment decisions, risk management, and strategic projects and initiatives.
12. Establish a regular business partnering rhythm ( monthly performance reviews with each function and quarterly strategy reviews) to align plans, resources and outcomes.
13. Partner closely with the Sales team to maintain effective credit relationships with customers, proactively manage credit risk and support commercial decision-making on customer terms and account management.
Financial Controls, Compliance & Risk Management
14. Ensure robust financial controls, policies and procedures are in place and adhered to across the business, maintaining a documented controls framework with periodic testing and remediation where required.
15. Oversee the statutory audit, tax and accounts preparation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements (across the UK, Ireland, US and our Italian branch).
16. Lead continuous improvement of finance processes, systems, controls and reporting, driving efficiency and data quality.
17. Ensure the Invoice Discounting Facility is utilised correctly ensuring compliance with funders requests and appropriate business liquidity.
18. Oversee cashflow forecasting and management, ensuring sufficient liquidity and compliance with covenants, always maintaining a rolling -week cashflow and -month outlook.
19. Implement and monitor FX risk management strategies.
20. Manage all business insurance arrangements, ensuring appropriate coverage and renewals.
21. Oversee company secretarial duties (in collaboration with Legal), ensuring statutory and regulatory requirements are met (across the UK, Ireland, US and our Italian branch).
Financial Leadership & Team Management
22. Lead, mentor and develop the Finance team, including FP&A Manager, Senior Management Accountant, and Finance Assistants, fostering a high-performance culture and collaborative working environment.
23. Set clear objectives and priorities for the Finance function, ensuring alignment with business strategy and operational needs.
24. Oversee recruitment, training and professional development within the Finance team.
25. Promote cross-departmental collaboration, ensuring Finance partners proactively with Sales, Operations, IT and HR to deliver high-quality financial support.
What We’re Looking For:
26. Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role.
27. Proven track record of leading and developing finance teams.
28. Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
29. Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
30. Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
31. Experience in financial planning & analysis, management accounting, and financial controls.
32. High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
Desirable:
33. Experience in high-growth environments, including PE-backed businesses or SMEs, with a proven ability to manage rapid change whilst operating at pace.
34. Experience in NetSuite and/or Salesforce.
