Reed, in partnership with a trust, is seeking a dedicated Student Support Assistant to join the Inclusion Team at UTC Plymouth. This role focuses on Reset and On-Call student services and requires an Enhanced DBS check. It offers a supportive environment under the guidance of the Behaviour and Inclusion Manager.
Day-to-day of the role:Be an active member of the On-call/Reset Team with a clear timetable.Understand and implement the on-call process effectively.Apply various strategies to support students' needs and facilitate their return to the classroom, such as walk and talk, and emotional support.Maintain high standards and expectations, including punctuality.Log students out of lessons and support restorative conversations.Contribute to improving student punctuality and ensuring standards are consistently met.Foster a sense of belonging among students.Organise and administer first aid/medication as required.Undertake additional duties as directed, appropriate to the role, including tasks during social times.
Required Skills & Qualifications:NVQ Level 2 in administration or equivalent, or at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.Trained in First Aid/Medication Administration or willing to undergo training.GCSEs in Mathematics and English – Grade C or above.Flexible approach to work, as the role will be varied.Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.Strong organisational skills.Proficient verbal and written communication skills to interact with various audiences.Ability to work independently and within a team.Good judgement in interpreting and resolving issues.Proficient keyboard and IT skills, including Google and/or Microsoft software.Desirable: Experience in a school environment and familiarity with CPOMS and Arbor (training provided).
