About the Role:
The purpose of this role is to support the Examinations Department in ensuring that all examinations are conducted in accordance with JCQ guidelines, creating and maintaining an environment in which students can achieve their full potential. Responsibilities include supervising and directing students into the examination room according to the seating plan, patrolling the room discreetly, maintaining awareness of other invigilators, and ensuring the correct ratio of students to staff at all times. You will help students understand and adhere to examination regulations, assist with the accurate completion of registers, distribute and collect examination papers and scripts, and support the secure delivery and return of materials. The role also involves supervising the orderly exit of candidates, reporting incidents, supporting students with any issues that arise, completing incident logs when required, and working collaboratively within the invigilation team under the direction of the Lead Invigilator, including assisting the Exam Inspector as needed.

Who We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate tact and diplomacy when interacting with students and staff, maintaining a calm and helpful approach, particularly under pressure in the examination room. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team, adhere to examination rules, regulations, and school policies, and be firm yet fair while relating well to candidates and maintaining an appropriate air of authority. Experience of working with young people or in a school environment, as well as prior experience invigilating examinations, is desirable.
