Hays Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Group Management Accountant to support a high-performing finance function. This role is ideal for a newly or recently qualified accountant looking to take the next step in their career.
Role OverviewThis position offers a broad scope of responsibilities across financial reporting,pliance, and process improvement. You’ll play a key role in producing accurate management accounts, supporting internal stakeholders, and driving efficiencies across financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in preparing monthly management accounts with accuracy and timeliness.
2. Reconcile and review balance sheet accounts to ensure integrity.
3. Provide financial support and guidance to internal teams, bing a trusted advisor.
4. Refine and enhance financial processes and controls to ensure best practice.
5. Ensurepliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including VAT returns and statutory filings.
6. Analyse P&L performance and reconcile results to relevant accounting standards.
7. Identify and resolve system or process issues to improve accuracy and efficiency.
8. Highlight opportunities for cost reduction and financial optimisation.
9. Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with external parties.
Decision-Making & Impact
10. Independently manage workload across areas of responsibility.
11. Collaborate on key objectives and results with senior leadership.
12. Rmend improvements to systems and processes for greater efficiency.
13. Ensure accuracy of financial information across all reporting areas.

14. Internal teams across departments
15. External auditors and banking partners
16. Regulatory bodies and customs authorities
What We’re Looking For
17. Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
18. Suitable for a first or second post-qualification role.
19. Strong experience in accounting and management accounts.
20. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
21. Effectivemunicator with strong interpersonal abilities.
22. Proficient in financial systems and software.
23. High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
24. Self-motivated and collaborative team player.
25. Member of a recognised accountancy body.
