About the role:
The Central Safeguarding Team provide an essential function of sharing safeguarding information with statutory partners to enable effective safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults. CST researchers enable timely and appropriate safeguarding interventions, maximising the opportunities for reducing the incidence of abuse to children and vulnerable people.
Our CST researchers work in 3 locations but as one team and once trained are responsible for safeguarding disclosures, considering the lawfulness of the request and content of information to be shared deciding: whether to disclose; what to disclose; and who to disclose to. The function includes risk assessment of an individual case and recording decisions and rationale using Force IT systems to research and record information.
Previous safeguarding experience is not required as training is provided however candidates are recommended to gain a background knowledge of safeguarding through online research prior to applying for the role. The following links may be useful for you:

The majority of the training is on the job and to start with you will work in the Launceston office full time enabling you to learn and be guided by experienced colleagues in the team.
Type of working arrangement:
During the training period for this role (which is up to 3 months) it is expected you will be in the office 5 days a week. Subject to management discretion this role then affords hybrid working allowing researchers to spend some of their time working remotely (i.e. from home).
The current expectation is that once trained researchers spend at least 60% of their work time in the office – (3 days per week minimum for a full-time worker) and this is at management discretion and could be changed in the future so applicants need to be prepared to work in the office as required by management.
