The Role
Forbes Solicitors LLP are seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk / Assistant to join our Accounts team at our Walton Summit Office. This role is full time, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
As a member of our Accounts team, you will ensure the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments whilst maintaining the integrity of the purchase ledger and supporting the finance team in achieving overall financial objectives.
Responsibilities include:
* Completing financial processes, transactions, and activities for accounts payable.
* Managing purchase ledger activities including monitoring the inbox, matching, coding, posting invoices, credit notes, credit card, and expenses.
* Building relationships with suppliers and internal clients, resolving queries.
* Assisting with cash flow management and payment runs.
* Supporting month-end routines.
* Reviewing and suggesting efficiencies within the department.
* Maintaining confidentiality and complying with financial standards.
* Keeping detailed records and supporting other accounting tasks.
The Person
Applicants will be assessed based on:
* Experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable roles.
* Proficiency in Sage, PFW, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Understanding of basic accounting principles and VAT regulations.
* Attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills.
* Ability to work within a team and align with company values.
* Awareness of financial regulations relevant to the legal industry.
* AAT qualification or equivalent.
