Electrical Project Manager – Energy & Infrastructure | Airport Scheme\nLocation: [Gattwick]\nSalary: £61,000 – £70,000 + Package (DOE)\n\nAbout Mech Electrics\n\nAt Mech Electrics Ltd, we are a specialist recruitment partner to leading contractors delivering advanced M&E and infrastructure projects. With a focus on sustainable and energy-efficient schemes, we are now working with a respected contractor delivering decentralised energy infrastructure on a major UK airport project.\n\nThe Project\n\nThis high-profile, £250M energy transformation scheme will see a major UK airport become fully decentralised by 2030. The multi-phase programme will deliver critical infrastructure upgrades, integrating renewable energy systems, future-ready BMS controls, and energy-efficient mechanical and electrical installations.\n\nThe Role\nWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee the delivery of electrical systems across a complex and highly regulated aviation environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * \n\n Lead the electrical package across various project phases, from enabling works to energisation.\n\n * \n\n Oversee HV/LV installations, switchgear, lighting, and containment systems.\n\n * \n\n Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical and civils, for integrated systems delivery.\n\n * \n\n Manage programme, budget, and quality benchmarks.\n\n * \n\n Liaise with airport authorities and ensure compliance with aviation security and operational protocols.\n\n * \n\n Coordinate testing, commissioning and handover of critical electrical systems.\n\n * \n\n Champion health, safety, and environmental best practices on site.\n\n * \n\n Review technical submittals and ensure procurement aligns with project milestones.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n\n * \n\n A successful track record delivering electrical packages on large-scale infrastructure or airport projects.\n\n * \n\n Expertise in managing HV/LV systems and interfacing with other services.\n\n * \n\n Excellent leadership and communication skills.\n\n * \n\n ECS/CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid (desirable).\n\n * \n\n Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.\n\n * \n\n Comfortable navigating compliance-heavy environments.\n\n * \n\n Able to drive team performance in line with programme and cost expectations.\n\n * \n\n A pro-active and solutions-led project leader
