Overview
Elgar House Surgery is recruiting for a Practice Clinical Pharmacist – ARRS role in Redditch, Worcestershire. Two positions are available: one full‑time 37.5 hours and one part‑time 18.5 hours. The pharmacist will work closely with the GP team to optimise medication management, support chronic disease care and reduce the workload of prescribers.
Responsibilities
* Provide primary support to general practice staff with prescription and medication queries.
* Conduct structured medication reviews and chronic disease management for patients with complex polypharmacy.
* Assist with repeat prescription system, acute prescription requests, and medicines reconciliation on transfer of care.
* Lead on medicines optimisation, quality improvement, clinical audit and support the quality and outcomes framework (QOF).
* Deliver clinical leadership on medicines optimisation and support the management of long‑term conditions.
Person Specification
* Registered pharmacist, GPhC registration required, member of RPS.
* Full clinical pharmacist training pathway completed (18‑month CPPE Clinical Pharmacist training pathway or equivalent).
* Independent prescriber status and experienced in prescribing safely in a primary care setting.
* Experience delivering structured medication reviews, chronic disease management and medicines reconciliation.
* Strong communication, leadership, and IT skills.
* Commitment to NHS values: teamwork, quality and NHS confidentiality.
Qualifications
* MPharm or equivalent Masters degree in Pharmacy.
* Registered with GPhC, member of RPS, independent prescriber status.
* Completed 18‑month CPPE Clinical Pharmacist training pathway or equivalent that equips the Clinical Pharmacist to practise and prescribe safely in a primary care setting.
* Experience of EMIS Web and Docman10 is desirable.
* UK registration and Disclosure and Barring Service check required.
Additional Information
