We are recruiting a 0.6 WTE Principal Practitioner Psychologist / Psychological Therapist to provide professional leadership for the psychological practitioners working in acute in East Sussex.
This role is a growing psychological profession within Acute, with Band 8a, Band 7 and Assistant Psychologist positions. You will work alongside a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Systemic psychotherapist and will take on a diverse role with opportunities to develop psychological knowledge and skills within the MDT through teaching, formulation spaces and reflective practice.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical and professional supervision to the Psychological Professions team.
* Lead recruitment and service developments, including training for MDT colleagues across the hospital.
* Conduct direct assessment and formulation of people with complex presentations and offer brief, evidence‑based interventions.
* Contribute to risk assessment and care planning.
* Provide consultation, support and formal/informal interventions such as reflective practice, debriefs and case discussions.
* Collaborate closely with urgent care colleagues, multiple admissions pathway and support the development of family approaches and utilisation of open dialogue principles.
Professional Development
Supported through clinical and professional supervision by the Professional Lead Consultant Psychologist for Acute and urgent care in East Sussex. The Trust offers a wide range of CPD opportunities, including training in Mindfulness, MBCT, Family Interventions, CAT, Open dialogue and other approaches. Post holders will be encouraged to develop specialist interests.
