If you answer yes, we’d love to hear from you Second Step Second Step is the lead agency, in a partnership of organisations, chosen by Bristol City Council, to deliver the MHCLG Changing Futures programme in Bristol to support people experiencing multiple disadvantage, including discrimination, homelessness, domestic abuse, mental health issues, drug and alcohol issues, and contact with the criminal justice system. Changing Futures is a resource for Bristol. Our aim is to create sustainable change at individual, service & system levels and influence government policy & local commissioning. In line with Bristol’s Multiple Disadvantage Strategy, this role will be integral to embedding My Team Around Me across Bristol as the way of supporting those most in need of coordinated multi-agency support. The Role: This role will sit within a wider team of practitioners including a Community Connector, Senior Psychologist and Senior Social worker, working across 4 pathways: Safeguarding Adults Homelessness Women’s prison to community Domestic Violence This role will be dedicated to the homelessness pathway and the successful candidate will have experience and expertise in a number of the following: discrimination, homelessness, domestic violence, criminal justice, substance use and mental health. The role will support system colleagues within homelessness (and interconnecting services) to embed the My Team Around Me Approach and Objectives: Service continuity: professionals working across sectors commit to relational and service continuity through transitions. Shared accountability: Learning together to do things differently through regular communication, shared safety and support planning. Client-led, trauma-informed and strengths-based support: building trusting relationships and working on strengths. Innovative Practice: Working collectively to create new and flexible ways of working that may inform strategy and commissioning Through positioning in multi-agency case discussion points the post holder will support with the process of identifying the people who could most benefit from the My Team Around Me approach. They will support practitioners working with that person to build a My Team Around Me community of support which will address their needs as a whole person using a shared safety plan. They will ensure members of those teams can access additional resource through our wider team, such as My Team Around Me training, multi-agency reflective practice, and formulation. They will support these My Teams to collaboratively create bespoke solutions, challenge systemic barriers and using their collective expertise to develop solutions in real time for those they are supporting. The teams will have access to tailored recovery focused options for the individuals they’re supporting. They will support the teams to identify challenges that need problem solving at a strategic level and enable them to fully utilise the problem solving capabilities of the My Team Around Me Exchange. Alongside members from the wider team, they will co-produce outcome measures for this phase of the programme and ensure these are used to inform sustainable change at individual, service & system levels and influence government policy & local commissioning. Who we’re looking for: We are looking for people who are passionate about working collaboratively with partners and creating real and lasting change for those accessing services today and in the future, holding a vision for each individual for a life beyond services. You’ll have excellent understanding of the support needs of people experiencing severe and multiple disadvantage (specifically those impacting Bristol’s homeless community), comprehensive partnership working skills, and be adept and working through the lens of trauma informed principles. You’ll be an excellent communicator, be great at building trusting relationships at all levels of the system and be keen to contribute to evidencing the programmes work. You’ll have substantial experience of working directly with people experiencing severe and multiple disadvantage and be enthusiastic about using this experience to enable best practice, line management experience beneficial but not essential. Due to the short-term nature of the extension this role will not be delivering any direct client work or engagement, rather it will support partner organisations to initiate and participate in MTAM multiagency meetings, building on the pre-existing relationships between services and individuals.
