As a study skills tutor you will be supporting students one on one within the Poole area who have learning difficulties. Does a flexible job role that works around your schedule sound ideal to you? If so, then Randstad has a job for you!
Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored one-to-one support with students you have been assigned to based on their specific learning difficulties
* Assist students with organisational skills such as, time management, creating action plans to work towards deadlines
* Help with their research skills by assisting them to access ranges of resources
* Provide help with writing skills, how to structure their work
* Encourage students to build on existing strengths so they are able to develop on their independence
* Behave in a confidential and professional manner at all time with students
* Work closely with Randstad and ensure any concerns regarding students are communicated immediately
As this is a specialist role, it is essential that you have a professional membership with one of the following:
* The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS) - Full or associate membership
* British Dyslexia Association (BDA) - Full professional membership
* The Association of Dyslexia Specialists in Higher Education (ADSHE) - Professional membership
* Dyslexia Guild Associate Member (ADG) o Associate Member (ADG FE/HE) o Member (MDG)

Desirable
* Organisational skills - to be able to manage your workload of multiple students to support
* Be reliable and punctual at all times when having sessions with students
* Accurate spelling and grammar skills
* Understandable and patient when working with students
* Have an understanding on how to use platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc
* Be empathetic and adaptive - understanding how each student is different
